The 7th edition of the Kenya International Film Festival commonly known as KIFF kicks off this evening in Nairobi, with an invitation only black tie event at the National Museums of Kenya, bringing together filmmakers and enthusiasts from the region. The opening film will be "The Captain of Nakara" directed by Kenyan filmmaker Bob Nyanja, scripted by Cajetan Boy. The festival will run until the 3rd of November 2012 at various locations and you can check out the full program here.
The theme of this years festival is ‘world classics’ and like the previous editions, this year’s theme creates an excellent opportunity for the West to meet the East, through great productions and exchange of expertise. This in turn allows participants to share knowledge about cultural heritages of different communities at the international level, promote intellectual dialogue and encourage mutual respect.
