A Journey Back in Time: 50 Years of Independence - Uganda

Today marked 50 years of independence for Uganda, fondly referred to as the "Pearl of Africa." What better way to celebrate that history and the progress that has been made, than by looking at photographs taken over the years and in various locations, that so vividly capture monumental moments in Ugandan and African history?

This is one of the reasons I love photography, it has the power to take you on a journey back in time.

As much as looking back at the past teaches us lessons, we must learn from these lessons and make great strides at improving the welfare of the people and the state.
